Stocks Hit Over China, Fed, Oil

There is no use trying to sugarcoat it.  Stock markets around the world took a beating in the third quarter.  In fact, it was the worst quarter for stocks overall in four years, since the depth of the Euro crisis in 2011. The S&P 500 lost 6.9% in the quarter and the Dow Industrials lost 7.6%.  On a year-to-date basis, the S&P 500 was down 6.7% by quarter-end and the Dow was down 8.6%.  U.S. stocks are basically at their lowest levels in two years.
